چکیده
Histiocytic sarcoma (HS) represents a rare type of malignant disease, characterized by neoplastic proliferation interstitial dendritic cells (iDCs). In rabbits, there are only two previous reports HS with pulmonary and cutaneous primary localizations. A 2-year-old, male, European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) clinical history chronic respiratory distress progressive weight loss was necropsied. Postmortem examination revealed gray-white, well-demarcated ovoid mass that deformed the ventral region larynx. Similar nodules were identified in both lungs. Histologically, laryngeal composed dense sheets histiocytes marked atypia multinucleated cells. Immunohistochemically, intensely positive for Iba1, CD1a, vimentin, occasionally E-cadherin, negative multi-cytokeratin. diagnosis multiple metastases made. To authors' knowledge, histiocytic tumor has not been previously reported rabbits.

Deliberate introduction of the European rabbit, Oryctolagus cuniculus, into Australia.
The European rabbit was brought to Australia as a companion animal by early settlers. It sometimes escaped, but failed to survive in the Australian bush. In 1879 wild rabbits were deliberately sent to Victoria to provide game for wealthy settlers to shoot. They soon spread all over Australia, except in the tropics, and became Australia's major animal pest. After careful testing in Australian wi...

Although IgD first appeared, along with IgM, in the cartilaginous fishes and has been retained throughout subsequent vertebrate evolution, it has been lost in a diverse group of vertebrate species. We previously showed that, unlike vertebrates that express IgD, the rabbit lacks an IgD (Cδ) gene within 13.5 kb downstream of the IgM gene. We report here that, by conducting BLAST searches of rabbi...

Non-suppurative meningitis was present and there was lymphocytic and plasmacytic perivascular cuffing in the neuropil. The cerebral cortex showed extensive segmental neuronal and gl...
